Recently, I was feeling a little overwhelmed by our move to a place where everything would be unfamiliar. I felt disoriented, as the reality of our move sank in, and the frequency of goodbyes started among our friends. It made the stability of "home" a little shaky.
Then the Lord reminded me of His comfort during trips overseas in years past, and how He helped me feel at home in a foreign land. While in India, He brought along a translator for my team, whose eyes and smile glowed just like my mom's. Another time while in Argentina, I was partnered with a girl who's personality and spunk was just like my best friend and roommate, Allana.
It was encouraging to remember how God surrounded me with new friends who felt like loved ones at home and allowed me to feel comfortable connecting with others I had just met. It was a blessing that gave me a sense of His love. THANKFULLY, for the first time, I am not moving alone! And as God is teaching me a new security while moving and I am learning to trust wherever God leads Thai and I, together He will make us at home.
This has been a peaceful revelation as we walk through our transition, and as a result, I am ready to take the next step in this new season with hope and security in Him.

The End of an Era...
It seems like the end of an era for me... Tonight is my last Source meeting at San Jose State, a college ministry I helped start some 4 years ago. For the past 10 years, it's been the mid-week fellowship that I've been a part of, invested into, and that has become like family (first at Berkeley then at San Jose State). God has been preparing Angela & I for this major transition in our lives, and we are excited for what is ahead, but it is hard to leave so many friends & family here. It's really surreal... it's like the end of an era.
But I look back at the past 4 years... and it's been amazing... To get to be a part of God birthing a new Kingdom work on a secular campus, to see all the people whose lives have been impacted by this work, and to see a campus community and culture develop that burns with a passion for Jesus and for transforming their campus with the Gospel has been an absolutely incredible privilege!
So tonight will be my last Tuesday at a very special place called "theSOURCE" (at least for a while ;). I will be sharing a message entitled "Legacy." I am excited to see how God will use the next generation of leaders at theSOURCE to advance His Kingdom. Hopefully, we gave them good shoulders to stand on...
Our Source family, Angela & I will surely miss you - each of you are so amazing! And we treasure the time that we have gotten to spend with you here at San Jose State. Tuesday nights will not be the same.

We are Moving to Kansas City!
This June, we are planning to move to Kansas City, Missouri! God has been speaking to us and has opened a door for us to move to and work with the International House of Prayer in Kansas City where The Call, the Luke18 Project, and onething are based. There is an incredible movement of young people being birthed out of Kansas City -- thousands of young people have moved to KC to be a part of IHOP and to be trained to be Kingdom forerunners in our culture proclaiming the message of Jesus to their generation. Every 3 months, hundreds of students have been moving to KC to be part of various ministry training internship programs. There is a 4-year school of ministry and music academy that equips evangelists, missionaries, intercessors, and worship leaders for full-time ministry. There are now nearly 1,000 staff members at IHOP Missions Base, and the majority are young people under 30.
God has been really connecting our hearts to the vision & values of IHOP, and we are excited for the opportunity to sow into a youth movement as well as for the opportunity to be trained by seasoned veterans in the Body of Christ like Lou Engle, Mike Bickle, and others. Our heart is to see young people trained up with the passion, the character and the disciplines to see their generation come to know Jesus and His love and their culture transformed by the Gospel of Jesus preached and the Kingdom of God made known. We want to see a generation of radical young people so in love with Jesus and so secure in the love of God that no other worldly pleasures could compete... Young people whose greatest aspiration is to love God wholly and to love people well!
As we obey the Lord and step out of the boat in faith, we have a number of major hurdles:
(1) This month, we will be taking nearly a 70% pay-cut as we are giving up Angela's job & salary and my current church stipend. Our last paychecks will be in Mid-may, and after that, we will be fully on missionary support! Thankfully the cost of living in Kansas City is a lot less than in San Jose, but we do need to raise an additional $3,000 in monthly support.
(2) Our cross-country moving costs are estimated at $4,500 (gas prices are a huge factor).
(3) And we are hoping to buy a home in Kansas City this next year. We are believing to raise $18,000 towards a 10% down payment.
Would you pray about investing into one of these areas of support as we venture into a new season of ministry?
